This Week Results…..

Gemma Holloway crowned a brilliant cross country season at Castle Donington on Saturday by finishing runner up in the national cross country championships for under 20s. She was beaten only by Harriet Knowles-Jones from Warrington but was comfortably in front of the rest of the field.  This brilliant run means that she will further her international career in Edinburgh later this month. Alec Finch rounded off his best ever cross country season by coming 233rd in the senior mens National Cross Country Championships. He recently made the Loughborough University A team, no mean feat, and can look forward to a successful track season. The 800m and 1500m have been his forte for some years and this year a marked improvement is on the cards. Demi Eves, who earlier in the week had finished 4th in the year 7 County Schools Cross Country championship, had an outstanding day in the indoor event at Lea Valley. She recorded pbs in the 60m, 200m and 600m in a track minithon. Her time of 1m47s for 600m indicates that a very fast 800m is due in the summer. Returning to the midweek cross country race 2 other performances caught the eye. Harry Parker finished 5th in the year 8 boys race earning an invitation to the inter county event later this month. Dhillon Harrod just missed out on this selection but finished in...

This Weekend Results….

Don Lawless continued to impress with his indoor performances. On Sunday's southern counties veterans championships he earned an invitation to run in the national inter area championships this weekend. He was runner up in the v50 3,000m championship with a time of 11.27. That great performance followed a bronze medal in the 800m a couple of hours earlier. Running on the boards aggravated Don's fragile Achilles' tendon so his 15 laps for the indoor 10k were painful but a rewarding experience. Newcomer to the sport, Toby Draper returned a pb by finishing in 13th place in the Dunton  test circuit 10 mile road race. His time was 65.32 which earlier in the year would have been his best pace for 10k. Claire...
