Thurrock Harriers News

June is to be a critical month for the club track and field teams. This weekend the young athletes travel to Peterborough for round 3 of the EYAL.  A good result here will put them well on the way to a place in the end of season final. Later this month the senior men and women travel to Sandy in Bedfordshire for round 3 of their league programme. Having won their first two matches it is essential they keep up the momentum in pursuit of the promotion which is essential for the club’s long term development. Hopefully a strong team ethic will kick in and support for their matches will come strongly from all sections. ——————- Just a month after the London Marathon, Corringham teacher Toby Draper toed the line for the Edinburgh Marathon. He returned an excellent personal best time of 2h59m48s to break the magic 3 hour barrier for the first time – a satisfying outcome for one the club’s hardest trainers. Written by Daves...
