Many of the club’s senior records go back decades so it’s a rare thing for a new one to be set. Therefore it’s remarkable that Gemma Holloway has set two this season. At the recent Watford open meeting to break Jessica Judd’s 1500m record with a time of 4:18:46 to reduce the record by 2.8 seconds. Earlier this season the junior international broke the club’s 3k record which had stood for 25 years.

At the same meeting Sam Smith demonstrated his renewed confidence with 4m30:01 for a 1500m pb.

Other endurance results include Jodi Meredith 4m23:77 and Harry Parker 4m33:12 and an excellent 3k from Alec Finch in 8m:36:16.

Harry Parker’s 2m09.32 shaved his personal best by fractions of a second.
