Harriers top endurance performance of the weekend came from Louise Brass. She returned a time of 2h21m25s in the Essex ’20’ to finish 4th in the Essex Championships and in silver medal position in the FV35 section. This effort shows that she is well on target for a sub 3h10m London Marathon.

Likewise Jason Syrett returned a pb of 2h19m48s to finish 53rd in the Essex Championship and as a result can also expect a big pb in the London Marathon.

Paul Mitchell found it tough going but returned a time comfortably under 3hrs.

Best effort in the English Schools Championship held at Nottingham on Saturday was produced by Hayley Instance who put her recent health problems behind her to finish 94th. Harry Parker was 173rd in the Junior boys event and in the same race Leon Wheeler finished a very respectable 80th.

Top park run performances came from Mason Hambleton with a time of 20m31s which chipped vital seconds from his previous best. Martin Mack did the same with his 20m44s effort. His son Jamie was top of the percentage league with 77.23%. His time was 19m15s.

This weekend sees the Inter County Cross Country Championships where a handful of Thurrock Harriers will be representing Essex.
