Dear colleague,
Community response to COVID-19
We are writing as you have been identified as either a community leader or a local anchor organisation.
These are very difficult and challenging times that we face and with the rapid pace of change makes co-ordinating even more difficult. In Thurrock we have great communities that self-organise and as part of the Asset Based approach this is the best support a local community can provide from neighbour to neighbour. To enable this approach and to keep people safe, we have included some useful documents and videos on the Stronger Together (http://www.strongertogether.org.uk) and Thurrock CVS (https://thurrockcvs.org) website for you to disseminate through your communities.
However, we also recognise there are individuals in our community that are more vulnerable and may require additional support. Therefore, as part of the Stronger Together partnership we have been working on a co-ordinated approach to support these individuals.
Today the local Thurrock Coronavirus Action response will be launched on the Stronger Together website for individuals that are offering their support, voluntary groups to offer their support/resource and business to register any offers or support they may have.
We would like to work with you and the Local Area Co-ordinators to field requests within your local community, for a placed based response, sending you details of volunteers that have made themselves available in your area and request from the individuals requiring support. We are also looking for local volunteer commanders to help within distribution centres in your local area.
If you are happy to help with this approach, can you please confirm via email so that we can make sure we send you all the relevant documentation and information sharing agreements.
