Braving the relentless rain on a damp and dismal evening, our dedicated athletes from Thurrock Harriers Young Athletes took on the challenge at the Essex Track Relays hosted by Chelmsford AC on 14th July.
Despite the unfavourable conditions, our team displayed remarkable optimism throughout the event. We extend a big thank you to all the members of our group who showed up, undeterred by the downpour, and represented us admirably in the U15 girls team, securing a spot in the final.
A special shout-out goes to Lila and Kira's group for going above and beyond, filling in for the absent U15 girls and enabling them to participate in the race.
Our U13 boys and girls showed impressive determination, despite facing the challenge of slippery baton changes. Their performance may not have had the desired outcome, but their effort was commendable.
The U17 women ran a fantastic race, finishing in a respectable 5th place, showcasing their talent.
However, the spotlight shines on our U17 men, who brought home a well-deserved bronze medal. We're especially proud of Tobi, who stepped up and competed in an older age group to contribute to the team's success.
